Departing State College-first attempt

ok memes, your stalking is finally going to pay off! here's our first post:
my friend, lara dropped us off at the airport at 6:30. we checked our luggage and said our goodbyes. of course, this was an emotional event for me and marked the hundreth time i've cried today. after we checked our luggage, i ran up my cell phone bill calling all my friends and family to tell them we were on our way to kazakhstan! an hour later, i called them back and attempted to scrounge a ride home. lara and amy came to our rescue. we arrived safely at 216 hunter wood way on tuesday evening at 9:30. our flight from state college to dulles was cancelled due to electrical storms on the east coast.
rebooking was miserable because there are tons of people trying to reroute on fewer available flights. our best option at this point is to rent a car, drive to JFK airport tomorrow and catch a plane to frankfurt in the evening. bummer! our first setback. wish us better luck tomorrow.julie-thanks for the neck pouch. it is great for carrying my passport and plane tickets.

First, thank you for finally posting a comment! Quite frankly, I was getting a little bored monitoring your blog for 24 hours without any new comments.
Speaking of comments, thank goodness I finally figured out how to post one. All this time I've just been e-mailing Micah! There are some things we don't learn through higher education.
Second, I am really disappointed about the delay. I woke up this morning, checked CNN for any downed planes, and was relieved to find none. I assured myself that by the time I sat down to a delicious lunch of PB&J, you two would be safely in Kazakhstan. Ugh!! The process begins anew...
Its 3:30 est and I'm hoping you both are close to JFK right now still able to get out of the country. My fingers are crossed. The big man upstairs owes me a few seeing how Will is cutting all 4 teeth and trying to walk. All hell is breaking loose at Gibson Place. I think he needs to take a walk down to see Mr.Kitty and have a Sam Adams. lol PS. Micah no Amish today....
It is now after 7:00 p.m., and I can only hope that you are finally on a plane to Frankfurt. I was concerned because we had severe thunderstorms here in Carlisle again. After four power outages this afternoon, I seriously began contemplating whether God hates my family. However, since I have not heard otherwise, I will assume he doesn't (he is too busy with Will's baby teeth) and that you are safely tucked away on a plane to Franfurt.

She is so beautiful, I got all teary eyed when I read what you wrote about when you first saw her and held her. Sean and I are so happy for you guys, and we can't wait to meet her. Mckenna will have a new friend and Will now has two girlfriends. No Amish people in playing in your yard, don't worry I am on the look out. I think Sean is having fun mowing your lawn, he likes driving that tractor around. LOL Take care, miss ya.
